no, you know what, i’ve absolutely narrowed down what it is that bothers me so much about that scene

i would not have disliked it if i had been referred to as “commander shepard”

X it's touched upon several times in me3 that shepard sees themselves and wants to be seen as just a soldier; like them X as savior of the galaxy obviously you're gonna get some serious cred but shepard often gets put on a pedastal (by liara especially) X the fact that however far in the future this scene is i'm referred to as almost a deity is troubling X not ''the shepard'' just commander shepard X which is also why i refuse to pick an ending where i essentially become immortal X this series is about the good of the galaxy but immortality/worship is the worst thing you could ever do to shepard X just a soldier following orders X ''what do you need me to do'' this game is full of sad but this line in particular destroys me X you're dying and still you get up and persevere to finish what you started X some have argued that shepard has a death wish by the end of this game and it's probably true that death would be very welcomed?? X not something i like to entertain cause i want nothing but a happy ending for this character specifically X but it's still a story about war so what can be said X this accidentally turned into shepard feelings X that kid is a piece of shit and i still refuse to believe he existed beyond that first scene X the indoctrination theory is very interesting (of course i'm sure there's some stuff to disprove it but interesting nonetheless) X tl;dr everything after the harbinger beam infuriates me X it's all so nonsensical that i can't help but believe some of the things pointed out in the IT X long post.....spent 20 minutes writing this............................at 5am...
